Thirty motorcycles bought by the Fiji Police Force have been officially handed over by Asco Motors to the force.
$4.5 million was allocated in the Police 2017-2018 budget to purchase bikes and quad bikes to improve responsiveness to emergencies and enhance safety on Fiji’s roads.
It had been announced that the first phase will see the purchase of 210 patrol bikes.
Asco Motors CEO Craig Sims says along with the 30 600cc motorbikes handed over to Police today another 100 motorbikes that were bought by the Fiji Police Force will arrive into the country next week.
They will all be 600cc bikes.
