The 2024 Skipper Cup competition will kick off on the 23rd of February, while the Farebrother Trophy Challenge will start after Round 9 of the Skipper Cup competition.

Fiji Rugby Union's Acting Chief Executive Officer Sale Sorovaki says one reason they are starting the competition early so that the competition does not coincide with the Secondary Schools Deans competition.

He says the 2024 Skipper Cup competition will have 10 teams competing, while the Vanua Championship will increase to 16 teams.

Sorovaki says the Vanua Championship will also start in February and will go right till May.

He adds that promotion and relegation of teams will happen at the end of the competition.
