Ba and Navua will open the 2027 domestic football season with a showdown in the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion series early next year.
Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Yusuf confirms that Navua had qualified for the competition after finishing runners-up in the 2026 FMF Inter-District Championship.
Ba secured their place in the season-opening series after completing a historic clean sweep of all four major domestic titles this season.
The Men in Black enjoyed a remarkable 2026 campaign, winning the Extra Premier League, BiC Fiji FACT, Extra Battle of the Giants and FMF IDC titles.
Yusuf says that, under the CVC competition regulations, the Extra Premier League champions traditionally face the FMF IDC winners in the season-opening series.
However, when one team wins both competitions, the Fiji FACT champions become the next eligible opponent.
If the same team also wins BiC Fiji FACT, qualification passes to the Extra Battle of the Giants champions.
In the event that one team claims all four major domestic titles, the FMF IDC runners-up automatically qualify for the CVC series.
With Ba dominating the 2026 season, Navua have earned the opportunity to challenge the reigning champions.
Navua secured their place after losing 2-0 to Ba in the FMF IDC Super Premier Division final at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Sunday.
