The 2016 participants of Leadership Fiji have been urged to use the solidarity shown by Fijians after Monster Cyclone Winston as a foundation for things they will learn in the program.
Speaking at the launch of the 2016 Leadership Fiji program, Chairman William Parkinson said many men and women stepped forward and showed leadership after Cyclone Winston and this year's participants could considerably learn from it.
He says that participants should think about how they can use leadership to contribute to the nation.
Leadership Fiji Alumni, Eseta Nadakuitavuki who was the Chief Guest at the launch also urged participants to be themselves.
She said the program encouraged her to believe in herself and focus on improving opportunities for women.
Nadakuitavuki is now the Westpac Bank senior manager microfinance and women's market.
27 emerging leaders including 10 women and 17 men from all sectors of society are part of the 2016 Leadership Fiji program.
The program has ushered through 327 graduates who are now alumni members over the past 15 years.
This year is also the 15th Anniversary for Fiji's leading development program for local leaders.
