Twenty seasonal workers will be returning to Australia for 6 months as part of the Seasonal Work Employers Scheme.

Plant Grow Pick Industry’s Walter and Mel Fangatua today said that they are happy to take back with them 20 of the workers that had previously worked with them.

Fangatua says the 20 seasonal workers are already familiar with the deductions that are made, in terms of tax, rent and daily expenses.

Minister for Employment Jone Usamate says the Fijian and Australian governments work closely together and are aware of the welfare of the seasonal workers.

Usamate says the government is trying to help people in rural areas get work, through the Seasonal Work Employers Scheme and to help their families back home.

Plant Grow Pick Industry’s Mel Fangatua says she is hoping that the workers receive their VISA’s by the end of next week.
