2 businessmen to appear in court over alleged murder
Two businessmen will appear in the Nadi Magistrates court this morning in relation to the alleged murder of Kamlesh Nanda who was killed in September 2006.

The two brothers who are from Nausori and Samabula respectively have been charged with accessory after the fact to Murder and are in police custody.

In 2007 investigation of the conspiracy to murder was initiated by ASP Nasir Ali and a team from FICAC whereby eight people were charged for alleged conspiracy to murder.

However they were discharged by the court in 2008 after the legality of FICAC was challenged.

On 14th December last year, Director CID SSP Luke Rawalai who was the Regional Crime Officer Western directed that the key people who allegedly funded the alleged murder be investigated for conspiracy to murder and he appointed Crime Officer Namaka, Inspector Peni Tuivaga to be the investigating officer.

Two businessmen aged 33 and 37 years have been charged while some others are still being investigated.

Meanwhile, Nadi man Jack Fraser was sentenced to life imprisonment for Nanda's murder in April 2010 after he had admitted carrying out the killing for an alleged payment of 20,000 US dollars
