Two Police officers in Savusavu are now under investigation for the alleged attempted rape of a 17-year-old girl over the weekend.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed that a team from the Crimes Department have been assigned to conduct the investigation.

Police say it alleged that the girl was intoxicated after a night out at a local nightclub, and on her way home she was met by the two Police officers who then allegedly tried to molest her.

They say actions will be taken against these officers if they are found to be guilty of the charges against them.

Investigation continues.
