A 16-year-old student is the country's latest drowning victim.
Divisional Police Commander North, Shri Bhawan Singh confirms the body of the boy was retrieved from Nagata River in Labasa yesterday afternoon.
Fijivillage has received information that the boy went for a swim with his cousins with the incident happened.
Singh says the body is kept at the Labasa Hospital waiting for the post mortem.
The drowning death toll stands at twelve compared to twenty one for the same period last year.
