Eleven youth from Fiji will leave our shores today for the 23rd Ship of the World Youth Program with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations with Japan and promoting Fiji as a potential tourist and investment destination.
The Ship of the World Youth program is a Japanese funded program which started in 1967 as "Japanese Youth Goodwill Cruise" which allowed Japanese youth to visit foreign countries port by port and later the program developed to include more foreign participants.
One of the participants, who is also the National Leader, Sitiveni Rakoro said he has a lot of responsibilities in terms of guiding the delegates.
Meanwhile, the Director of Youth and Sports, Makereta Sauturaga said the program has enriched the lives of many Fiji youths and many have gone on to leadership positions within the Government, Private Sector and in communities.
