Domoniko Tabao and Jone Rakatia are now free men after the State discontinued legal proceedings against them over the alleged attempted murder of a female police officer at the Laqere checkpoint.
The two appeared before High Court Judge Dane Tuiqereqere today, while co-accused Saimoni Rokotunidau was not present in court.
The three were allegedly in a vehicle that drove directly into a police roadblock at Laqere on the 26th of April this year, resulting in the attempted murder charge.
Justice Tuiqereqere warned Tabao and Rakatia that although they were free to leave, they were not out of the woods yet as they could be recharged over the same matter.
Rakatia was represented by Yogen Kumar, Tabao was represented by Gavin O'Driscoll, while the State was represented by Bhavna Kantaria.
