Young families celebrate dream of home ownership through Housing Authority scheme
Ifereimi Qalaivecena of Naqara, Naitasiri says he is grateful to the Government for helping his family achieve their dream of owning their own home.

Qalaivecena says receiving the key to their new home is a special feeling because, unlike renting, they will now own the house they are living in.

He says paying rent is very different, and as a newly married couple, owning their own house gives them the opportunity to build their future and raise a family.

Qalaivecena is also encouraging young people not to be discouraged from applying for housing assistance, saying these opportunities can make a real difference in helping them achieve home ownership.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Shaunil Chand says owning a home at a young age is something he never imagined would have been possible without the Government's support.

Chand says he is grateful to the Housing Authority and the Government for the housing scheme and grant, which have made home ownership more affordable for young people like him.

He also thanked his parents and family for encouraging and supporting him throughout the process.

Chand is encouraging other young people to apply for the Housing Authority's housing schemes.
