Police look into inciteful social media post threatening unrest in the capital city
The Police Criminal Investigations Department is swiftly looking into a social media post threatening unrest in the capital city.

The post issuing an ultimatum calling for the removal of Fiji's Constitution followed by a threat to burn the nation's capital is under investigation.

We have reached out to Police, asking if the person, who has 5,400 followers on facebook, has been identified and is in custody.

They say the Digital Forensic investigators are on the case.

Members of the public are reminded to use social media responsibly.

Police say while respecting one's freedom of expression and speech, it must be practiced with responsibility, as abuse and the breach of the law will not be condoned.

Incitement of hatred and violence is a criminal offence.
