Students of Swami Vivekananda College in Nadi have been told to be aware of the misinformation on Facebook by Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Speaking at the launch of the mVuli online portal, Sayed-Khaiyum posed a question to the students to think about asking them if our knowledge base is increasing or not.
He says they just have to go to Facebook and see how people actually pick up issues without any knowledge and without recognising what are the facts.
He told the students that they need to be a lot more discerning and have that inquisitive mind to question.
The first phase of the mVuli online portal offers digital lessons on mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology.
It cost $350,000 to develop the portal which coincides with the Swami Vivekananda College 70th anniversary.
The Ramakrishna Mission Fiji is working on developing a syllabus for primary school students.
