Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School are the champions of the Vodafone Deans Southern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union Under-14 grade after defeating Suva Grammar School 20-10 this morning.
MGM High dominated throughout the match, scoring two tries in the first half to lead 12-0 at halftime.
Silly mistakes and ball-handling errors cost Grammar the game, but MGM did not ease the tempo as they continued to press forward.
MGM High scored another try in the second half after a Grammar player dropped the ball inside his own 22-metre line.
They also slotted a penalty to extend their lead.
Grammar had a brief opportunity after an MGM player was shown a yellow card, but the boys from Nabua held firm in defence.
Grammar capitalised on the numerical advantage and managed to score two tries.
In other finals, Marist Brothers High School will face Suva Grammar School in the Under-15 final, Gospel High School will take on Suva Grammar School in the Under-17 final, Nasinu Secondary School will meet Suva Grammar School in the Under-19 final, while Nasinu Secondary School will also face Suva Grammar School in the Under-18 final.
In the Weet-Bix Raluve Competition, Suva Grammar School will take on Nasinu Secondary School in the Under-16 final.
All matches will be played at Suva Grammar Grounds and Veiuto Ground.
