The highly anticipated Western derby lived up to expectations as the two sides battled through an intense and physical 80 minutes.
Nadroga opened the scoring in the 18th minute after Nadi lost possession while on attack.
The Stallions quickly turned defence into attack, with centre Kavekini Boselawa finishing off the counter-attack to give the visitors an early 5–0 lead.
Nadi responded through flanker Peni Vukivuki, bringing the home side back into the contest.
Nadroga, however, regained the advantage when full-back Sefanaia Tokaduadua crossed the try line, giving the visitors a 10–7 lead at half-time.
Tight-head prop Josh Uluibau powered his way over the line in the 62nd minute, sending the home crowd into celebration as Nadi moved ahead 14–10.
Both sides then exchanged penalties as the pressure continued to build.
With the match entering its final stages, Nadroga were dealt another setback when they were reduced to 14 men after receiving a red card.
Their persistence was eventually rewarded when replacement hooker Apenisa Lanivia crashed over the try line to score the winning try.
The late effort secured a dramatic 20–17 victory for Nadroga and brought Nadi’s unbeaten run to an end.
In other results Suva edged Malolo 31-27, Lautoka beat Tailevu 27-22, Naitasiri defeated Ba 33-28, Navosa egded Rewa 39-38 while Taveuni drew with Kadavu 12 all.
