Two people are dead as Police are responding to an unfolding serious incident in Wattle Downs, South Auckland this afternoon.
New Zealand Herald reports that at about 1.45pm, emergency services responded to reports of a woman unresponsive at an address on Gambare Place.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
During a search of the property, police also discovered a dead man.
Cordons are in place at Mahia Road and schools in the immediate area were advised to lockdown.
An employee at a store nearby has also told Stuff a large police response had arrived in the area.
The employee said they could see ambulances and could hear a helicopter flying overhead.

They said police vehicles with sirens on had travelled towards Great South Rd and Takanini.
The employee described people in the area as appearing “shocked” and “sort of nervous” about what was happening.
They said police are blocking off the road with guns.
The employee said some young people outside the store had claimed there had been a shooting, but stressed they did not know whether that was true.
