Professor Biman Prasad trial adjourned to 2 30pm over High Court stay application
Former Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad’s lawyer, Richard Naidu, has filed an application in the High Court seeking a permanent stay of proceedings, and a temporary stay of the trial.

Naidu says the application was filed this morning.

He says they also received disclosures from FICAC this morning, but he has not had a chance to go through them.

Suva Magistrate Yogesh Prasad says it would be disrespectful for the Magistrates Court to continue with the trial while the High Court is considering the stay application.

The Magistrate has adjourned the trial to 2.30pm today to consider the issue of the stay application.
