A Pacific Flying School plane is missing.

Fijivillage has received confirmation that two people were on board and a search team was activated earlier this afternoon to search for the plane.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they have received confirmation that the plane was last located near Korotari, Labasa.

She says the Flying School has said that the plane left Nadi at 7.30am yesterday and was last located in Korotari at about 12.30pm yesterday.

Three Police teams are out searching for the plane now.

The teams are headed by Divisional Police Commander Northern, SSP Verani Nakauyaca.

They are currently searching in Suweni, Navakoro and Delaikoro.

We are currently trying to get information from CAAF and Pacific Flying School.

The Flying School says they can’t release anything at this stage.

Airports Fiji Limited has now confirmed that a Cessna 172 aircraft is overdue after failing to report to Labasa Airport at around 12.15pm yesterday.

AFL says that it has alerted the Fiji Rescue Coordination Centre (Navy) and the Police.
