The struggle for women to break even, to rise up the ranks and to simply be heard and acknowledged in male‑dominated workplaces must end, Time’s Up.
Women in Business President Dr Nur Bano Ali, while speaking at the launching of the 2018 Westpac Women in Business awards has highlighted this adding that this year’s awards will join the global movement aiming to call out the unequal opportunities for women and sexual harassment in various industries and beyond, issuing a call to action under the theme Time’s Up.
Westpac General Manager Brett Hooker says that more and more women in Fiji are starting their own businesses and taking on careers which predominantly were purely male dominated and this diversity will surely bring a positive impact in various industries.
Meanwhile, Dr Ali has also revealed the 4 categories in the Women in Business Awards that include, Business Woman of the Year, Executive Woman of the Year, Manager of the year in both the public and private sectors, and the Aspiring Entrepreneur of the Year adding that nominations for all categories close on 4th April.
Westpac also handed over a sponsorship cheque of $75,000 towards the 2018 Women in Business Awards that will be held on 4th May at the Grand Pacific Hotel.
