Speaking at the International Day of Peace Youth Peace Forum at the University of the South Pacific's Pasifika Campus in Nasese, Kamikamica says young people are not only Fiji's future but are already playing an important role in the country.
He says meaningful youth participation should go beyond listening to young people and should provide them with opportunities, to contribute to the development of policies and take on responsibilities.
Kamikamica says peace is also about whether people feel safe, have access to education and jobs, and can afford food.
He says it is also about whether people can seek help for issues such as HIV and drugs without shame.
Kamikamica says Fiji's young people are growing up at a time when artificial intelligence, technology, social media, climate change and global developments are rapidly changing the world.
He also highlighted the impact of drugs on young people, saying drug use can damage their health, education and families.
Kamikamica says prevention, education, counselling and health services need to be available, while young people should also be involved in developing solutions to these problems.
He also encouraged young people to take part in discussions about Fiji's Constitution, saying they should understand their rights and responsibilities and how the country's institutions work.
Kamikamica says creating opportunities for young people is also important for peace.
He says this includes helping young people enter agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and digital businesses, and supporting them to create jobs rather than only look for employment.
Kamikamica challenged young people to learn and participate in their communities.
He also encouraged them to protect one another, including protecting their friends from drugs and supporting people living with HIV.
