Suva Muslim Primary School has marked its 100th anniversary with a community and heritage night featuring cultural performances, a recycling fashion show and celebrations involving students, teachers and the wider school community.
Speaking during Day 3 of the Centennial Celebration, which was held under the theme Community and Heritage Night, Centrepoint Foodmart Managing Director Zeaul Khan congratulated the school on reaching the major milestone.
Khan says the centenary is a significant achievement, marking a century of educating and nurturing generations of children.
He says children have spent the past 100 years walking through the school gates, learning in classrooms, playing together and forming lifelong friendships.
Khan also acknowledged the contributions of past and present teachers for their efforts in making the school a happy and welcoming place for students.
He encouraged students to enjoy the celebrations, take part in the activities, support their friends and create memories they will cherish.
Khan says the centennial carnival is a reward for students and an opportunity for the school community to celebrate its 100-year journey together.
The celebration also featured a recycling fashion show involving nine student ambassadors, who showcased creative designs made from recyclable materials.
A meke presentation was also held as part of the cultural and heritage celebrations.
The school’s centennial carnival and fundraising initiatives will end tonight.
