Parents and guardians have been urged to closely monitor their children during the two-week school holiday and ensure they make safe and responsible choices.
With schools closing for Term 2 holidays, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro has encouraged parents to remain actively involved in their children's lives during the break by talking to them, listening to them and providing guidance.
Radrodro reminded parents and guardians to know where their children are going, who they are with and what time they are expected to return home.
He has also encouraged students to use the holiday wisely by resting, spending quality time with their families, reading, exploring their interests, helping at home and developing positive habits.
The Minister also acknowledged the dedication of teachers, school management and school leaders for their continued support of students throughout the term.
With young athletes taking part in the 2026 Vodafone Super Deans and Weet-Bix Raluve Finals, parents and guardians are also being urged to closely monitor their children’s movements throughout the weekend.
The Minister stressed that the safety, wellbeing and positive development of children are a shared responsibility between schools, parents, communities and the Government.
He has also wished students, teachers, parents, guardians and school communities a safe, restful and enjoyable school break.
