Northern Bulls captain Laisani Salawaqa has praised her side's teamwork after they secured a hard-fought 27-25 victory over Northland in Round 2 of the Ranadi Cup at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
The narrow win saw the Northern Bulls hold off a determined Northland side in one of the closest matches of the round.
Speaking after the match, Salawaqa thanked her players for their effort and acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents.
Salawaqa says the victory has given the team confidence as they turn their attention to their next fixture.
The Northern Bulls will now shift their focus to Round 3 against Ra at 11am on Saturday at the Narauyaba Sports Ground.
Other Round 2 Ranadi Cup results saw some dominant performances, with Cakaudrove securing the biggest win of the round after defeating Bua 86-12.
Yasawa also recorded a convincing victory, beating Tavua 59-7, while Ra overcame Coastland 42-5.
Navosa continued their strong form with a 63-32 win over Malolo, while Serua claimed a 57-29 victory against Ovalau.
