Jeremiah, Manoa and Elizabeth were on their way home from school when they noticed plastic bottles and empty cans scattered around Solovi.
Instead of walking past, they asked a nearby shop for an empty carton, collected the litter, took it home and sorted the recyclables into bags ready to be returned through the Return and Earn programme at the Nadi Town Council next week.
Their efforts immediately made a visible difference to the area and highlighted how simple actions can help keep communities clean.
The Return and Earn programme encourages people to recycle eligible beverage containers, helping to reduce litter while promoting cleaner and more sustainable communities.
The children's actions have been praised as an example of environmental responsibility, showing that no one is too young to make a positive difference.
Members of the public are also being encouraged to collect and return empty bottles and cans through the initiative to help keep Fiji clean for future generations.
