Just days after being crowned Miss Hibiscus 2026, Sala Korosaya says the reality of wearing the crown is still sinking in as she begins to embrace the responsibility that comes with the title.
The Miss MHCC and Carpenters Tower contestant says winning the crown still feels surreal, but she is now more aware that people will be watching how she carries herself, as well as her attitude and actions in everyday life.
Speaking to fijivillage News during the awards ceremony for the 11 Hibiscus contestants at the Suva Civic Centre, Korosaya says her immediate focus is on getting some much-needed rest following the FMF Hibiscus Festival before preparations begin for the Miss Fiji pageant.
She says she plans to use the next two weeks to recover and regain her energy before returning to full preparation mode.
While adjusting to her new responsibilities, Korosaya is also continuing her law studies and says the experience has taught her the importance of discipline and managing her time wisely.
She says studying law involves a lot of reading, so she uses whatever free time she has to catch up on her academic work.
Korosaya says participating in the Hibiscus Festival has helped her become more disciplined and improve the way she manages her time.
She has also thanked her supporters and those who prayed for her throughout her journey, saying their support helped her through some difficult moments leading up to the festival.
Korosaya was crowned Miss Hibiscus 2026 at the FMF Hibiscus Festival in Suva and will now prepare to represent the festival at the Miss Fiji pageant.
