The Fiji High Commission in New Delhi is advising all Fijian nationals currently in India to exercise increased caution due to ongoing protests and student demonstrations in several parts of the country.
The High Commission says while most of the demonstrations remain peaceful, the situation remains tense and could lead to traffic disruptions, road closures and occasional clashes with law enforcement.
Fijian citizens are being urged to avoid protest sites and large public gatherings, follow the advice of local authorities and law enforcement, allow extra travel time because of possible traffic diversions, and monitor local news and official updates before travelling.
The High Commission says it continues to closely monitor the situation and is ready to provide consular assistance to Fijian nationals in the event of an emergency.

The current protests in India are primarily being driven by students and young people demanding reforms to the country's education and examination system.
