Police confirm that the evidence gathered in relation to the death of Constable Peniasi Racagi including the files regarding the alleged involvement of Police officers, is with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
They say all necessary supporting evidentiary documents in relation to the investigation into the death of Constable Racagi have been forwarded to the Office of the DPP
The Fiji Police Force has been advised that the review of the files by the ODPP will take between three to four weeks.
Further progress will be released upon receipt of the ODPP’s independent legal advice.
Police Constable Peniasi Racagi was murdered in Lami on the 22nd of February this year.
Police had earlier stated that their investigations focused into two avenues of the officer's death and Police involvement.
