The Auckland Blues dominated the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua 34-5 in round 13 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific last night.

The Blues scored three unanswered tries in the first half through prop Marcel Renata, Taufa Funaki and Josh Fusiu’a.

Beauden Barrett also converted a penalty as the Blues led the Drua 22-0 at half time.

The Blues continued to dominate the match in the second half with prop Angus Ta’avao crossing the try line just six minutes into the second half.

It was clear from the start of the match that the Drua will need to dig deep to make a comeback.

The rain also did not dampen the spirit of the Drua fans as they continued to support the Drua even though they were down by 27 points.

Barrett’s presence was also felt in the game as he took on the Fijian boys and showed his experience.

Cole Forbes scored another converted try to extend the Blues points to 34-0.

The Drua managed to get closer to the Blues try line, but they could not put points on the scoreboard.

The Drua’s first points came in the 76th minute through a try to Selestino Ravutaumada as the Drua trailed 5-34.

The Drua’s next match is against the Force at 3.35pm next Saturday at Lautoka’s Churchill Park.
