The NGO Coalition on Human Rights is calling on the government to stand true to what the truth is which is to stop genocide and call for a permanent ceasefire in the Hamas and Israel war.

The NGO Coalition on Human Rights, university students and concerned citizens turned up in numbers to be part of the vigil that was held at the FWCC compound to remember the innocent people killed in Gaza.

Social Empowerment and Education Program Director Chantelle Khan says the authorities should be listening to the voices of the people. and even though it is a small group of people, it is about the truth.

She says the NGO Coalition has decided to continue to stand by their brothers and sisters in Palestine.

Khan says they have to make sure they are doing their part as human rights defenders and advocates.

She also acknowledged the high number of young people turning up to lend their voices and contribute to the mass demonstrations that are happening globally.

Khan also calls on Christians to differentiate between their faith as a Christian and the political move of Zionism, which is doing this mass killing and genocide in Gaza.

The NGO Coalition on Human Rights will be holding a vigil to remember the victims of Gaza every Thursday at the FWCC compound in Suva.
