Australian Minister for International Development and Pacific Senator Zed Seselja and Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete.

The Australian Minister for International Development and Pacific, Senator Zed Seselja says there are challenges ahead but where Fiji has gotten to with its world-leading vaccination program is enabling the country to open up and there is great excitement about that in Australia.

While speaking during a press conference with Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete earlier today, Seselja says there will be many Australians having the opportunity to come and visit Fiji.

He further says it is an honour that they are able to work together.

Seselja says he was impressed with the plan that has been outlined by Waqainabete in terms of protecting the communities and strengthening the health systems.

Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says what is important for Fiji is that we continue to protect our communities and to ensure the protection is also rendered to the visitors that will be coming in.

Dr Waqainabete says in the midst of Fiji’s challenges, Australia stood with Fiji.

Dr Waqainabete says we enjoy our freedom because of the support of multilateral partners including Australia.
