FICAC executed a search warrant at the Fiji Sports Council Headquarters earlier today.

fijivillage News has asked FICAC for further details on why the search was conducted however they have not responded.

Meanwhile the Fiji Sports Council confirms that FICAC executed a search warrant at their premises and obtained documents as part of a preliminary investigation.

Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ratu Gilbert Vakalalabure says they understand this follows a complaint believed to have been lodged by a former employee whose employment was recently terminated.

He says they wish to reassure the public, stakeholders, and partners that the Council remains committed to transparency, accountability, and integrity in all their operations.

The Acting CEO says they are fully cooperating with FICAC and will continue to assist with their inquiries.

He says they are confident that all Council actions have been conducted by the law and their internal policies.
