No medals have been given out in the 2025 Coca Cola Games so far as the 400 metres heats continue this hour.

The 100 metres heats will start at about 1.15pm.

160 schools are taking part in this year’s Coca Cola Games with more than 2,600 athletes participating in the events – making it the biggest games ever.

The preliminary rounds continue for the Junior Girls High Jump, Junior Boys Shot Put, Intermediate Girls Triple Jump, Intermediate Boys Discus, Junior Girls Javelin, Senior Boys Long Jump and Intermediate Girls Shot Put.

An interesting battle looms in the 100 metres senior boys event of the 2025 Coca Cola Games later today, and we cannot count out any athlete on game day as all the times clocked so far are manual times.

The big question also remains on whether any athlete can break Pacific sprint king, Banuve Tabakaucoro’s record.

Tabakaucoro set the current Coke Games 100 metres record of 10.43 seconds in 2011.

Marist Brothers High School sprinter Ratu Penaia Ramasirai clocked a time of 10.68 seconds in the Suva Zone 2, Asaeli Sorovakatini from Natabua High School in Lautoka clocked a manual time of 10.30 seconds, his schoolmate Josefata Tuinavitilevu clocked a time of 10.40 seconds, Queen Victoria School wonder boy and sensation Senirusi Rauqe clocked a time of 10.96 seconds, Ratu Kadavulevu School sprinter and gold medal hopeful Setareki Saukilagi clocked a time of 10.66 seconds, Joshua Ducia of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School clocked 10.72 seconds, Samuela Navitalai from Ratu Kadavulevu School clocked 10.85 seconds and Nathaniel Chand of Suva Grammar School clocked 10.95 seconds.

Grammar sprinter Semesa Caginivalu won the Blue Ribbon event last year.
