Police are investigating the driver of a Suva City Council garbage truck following an incident in which worker Ritnesh Chand allegedly jumped onto the moving vehicle, reportedly slipped, and was run over.
According to the Chand's family, he was carrying out his cleaning duties in Nasese when he was allegedly chased by a pack of dogs, prompting him to jump onto the moving truck.
Police have confirmed to fijivillage News that once investigations are over, they will release a statement.
The Suva City Council says they are also conducting their own investigations and they are working with the Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji to compensate the Chand's family.
