Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji received 300 back to school packs from BSP.
FENC Fiji’s Board Chairman Ratu Meli Vesikula highlighted that education is one of the main instruments for reducing poverty and inequality.
Vesikula adds education lays a foundation for sustained economic growth.
He revealed over 17 thousand children have been assisted by FENC Fiji since 2010 and BSP has been responsible for the education of at least 3,500 of these children.
BSP’s Vasiti Vugakoto says they hope to motivate these children to persevere despite their financial situation and attain the best education possible to become responsible, hardworking, and productive citizens so they are empowered to break away from the cycle of poverty.
She adds only then can they redeem themselves and those they love.
