Saimoni Rokotunidau, who is charged with the attempted murder of a female police officer in Laqere and the unlawful possession of methamphetamine, had his bail hearing vacated this morning.
The court was informed by his new lawyer that they are awaiting the discharge summary from his previous lawyer, Jerry Dinati.
State lawyer Hezekiah Nofaga told the court that the trial is expected to take about one and a half weeks.
The pre-trial conference has been adjourned to November 5, when the bail hearing will also take place.
Rokotunidau is charged with one count each of attempted murder, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, going equipped, serious assault, and refusing to have his fingerprints and photographs taken.
