The door is still open.
That is the message from Fiji Airways Men's National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau as they begin preparations for the 2026/2027 HSBC SVNS World 7s Series, which kicks off in November.
He says they are still keeping an eye on players competing in the Skipper Cup, with most of the players in the extended squad currently playing in the tournament.
Kolinisau says there are 70 players in the extended squad at the moment, but that number will be trimmed to 35 before the final selection is made for the new series.
The new 7s series will kick off with the Dubai 7s on November 28th and 29th, followed by the Cape Town 7s on December 5th and 6th.
The Singapore 7s will be held on January 30th and 31st, 2027, followed by the Perth 7s on February 6th and 7th, the Vancouver 7s on March 6th and 7th, and the New York 7s on March 13th and 14th.
The SVNS World Championship will begin with the Hong Kong 7s from April 9th to 11th, followed by the Valladolid 7s from May 21st to 23rd, before concluding in Bordeaux from May 28th to 30th.
The Fiji Men’s 7s team finished second in the 2025/2026 SVNS World Series and sixth in the SVNS World Championship.
