The National Federation Party has announced 17 proposed candidates at its national convention at Jai Narayan School this afternoon.
Dr Ahmed Shakeel Shareef has also been proposed as the party’s Deputy Leader.
The proposed candidates are Aisake T Batibasaga, Dr Ahmed Shakeel Shareef, Avenai Serutabua, Viliame Cagilaba, Subramani, Anish Krishna, Losena Seru, Inia Duve Nabulagi, Mohammed Shiyaz Soheb, Raineel Kumar, Satish Prasad, Kavai Vunidogo, Waisale Kanavo, Benjamin Ram, Sharan Chetty, Jone Vakalalavanua and Manasa Vatanitawake.
Party leader Biman Prasad congratulated the candidates and says NFP has never been afraid of challenges.
He says even in the politically complicated ways, the members live in as an independent party in a governing coalition.
He says the party have always challenged the settled assumptions of our politics, opposed communal division, and insisted that Fiji should become a great nation to all its people.
He adds that the candidates should welcome criticism rather than silence it, and every supporter to answer provocation with facts, patience, and national purpose.
