The Wonderful Company confirms that they are planning to reduce their workforce at the FIJI Water plant.

When asked on the reason for the planned reduction of staff, the US company says as ongoing global economic uncertainty impacts businesses in every sector and industry, FIJI Water has similarly faced a softening of sales in key markets.

They say these realities have required them to make the difficult decision to consider the workforce reduction at the FIJI Water plant.

The company says they are currently undergoing a consultation process with employees and key stakeholders.

They have met with the General Secretary of the National Union of Workers, and they and the union are fully committed to working together constructively to ensure the impacted employees are provided with support throughout this transition.

The Wonderful Company says their intention is to maintain FIJI Water as a strong and resilient business, and they remain fully invested in their ongoing projects and in the communities where they operate.

fijivillage News has sent the company further questions on what is the total workforce number for FIJI Water and how many people will be laid off, how the people to be laid off will be chosen, when is this expected to happen and what are the business constraints that is forcing the company to take this step.
