Rosie Holidays has taken a bold step towards a greener future with a $1.5 million investment into Fiji’s first-ever fleet of electric tourist coaches.

The company says this major development sets a benchmark in sustainable travel and is part of its broader goal to convert 50 percent of its transport fleet to zero emissions by 2030.

The investment aligns with the Fijian Government’s National Sustainable Tourism Framework, which encourages private sector partnerships to tackle climate change.

Rosie Holidays says this new milestone builds on its pioneering role in the industry.

They say last year, the company became the first in Fiji to offer a luxury, zero-emission electric vehicle hotel transfer service and now, it has followed that up by becoming the first to introduce a fleet of 53-seater next-generation electric coaches for tourists.

Group General Manager Eroni Puamau says the initiative is driven by a deep commitment to protecting Fiji’s environment.

Puamau says Fiji is our home and as a Fijian family-owned business, protecting and nurturing our island environment is a priority.

He adds the transition to electric vehicles started three years ago, with extensive research and visits to EV manufacturers in China.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Viliame Gavoka, commended the initiative, saying this is not just about tourists, but about transformation.

Gavoka says this development is not only moving people, but moving the nation toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
