At 330 metres long, the massive vessel is essentially a floating city at sea.
The ship features 1,780 guest cabins, can accommodate up to 3,560 passengers, and has a crew of around 1,350.
From the office, its rows of balconies and towering decks provided a striking contrast against Suva’s familiar waterfront skyline.
For a city accustomed to seeing ships come and go, there is still something special about watching a vessel of this scale arrive in the harbour.
For passengers, Suva offers a first glimpse of Fiji’s capital and an opportunity to experience the city’s markets, culture, food and warm hospitality before continuing their Pacific journey.
For those of us watching from shore, however, the arrival offered a spectacular reminder of just how much of the world passes through Suva’s harbour.
