YES scheme makes dreams come true for three young entrepreneurs

Three innovative young entrepreneurs have today become the recipients of the YES scheme which was launched in January this year.

These three recipients intend to set up businesses such as a landscaping and generating bio gas, building affordable homes known as tiny home and setting up a website to promote fitness, reduce NCD’s and help people lose weight.

The ministry today handed over a cheque of $20,000 to Adelene Tutu for her fitness website, $18,000 to Siwan Narayan for a Tiny homes construction business and $20,000 to Atunaisa Rainima for his landscaping and grass cutting business which will also generate Bio gas.

The Permanent Secretary for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Shaheen Ali has highlighted that the Ministry has so far received over 300 applications for the Young Entrepreneurs Scheme.

He says YES is an investment in Fiji’s future.

The Minister for Tourism, Industry, Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya while handing over the Cheques said the government strongly believes in youth empowerment.

He has encouraged more entrepreneurs to apply for this scheme.

Koya also reminded the three recipients that the Coca Cola Company which is now a company that’s worth $2 billion once just sold 1000 bottles in a day for 5cents.

He has urged them to always think big.
