With seven days left for school to start, the Ministry of Education has encouraged parents to send their children to school with little things they have.

Permanent Secretary for Education Brij Lal said that the Ministry wants every student to report to their various schools on the first day where they will then work together with the school committee in assisting those students affected by Cyclone Evan.

Fijivillage asked Lal what will be done to help students facing tough times to get back on their feet.

Lal said that parents have to make every effort to send them to school on the first day of school and the Ministry will get the numbers from the schools for assistance.

Term one of the school begins on the 22nd of January.
