The Land Transport Authority has today clarified that people can produce other forms of identity if they do not have a water or electricity bill under their name.
LTA recently issued a notice stating that vehicle owners need to produce water and electricity bills to renew their driving licenses, permits or any other transactions and no application, renewal or registration will be conducted without the requirement.
A number of people have raised concern on the requirement and Consumer Council of Fiji Chief Executive officer, Premila Kumar said many vehicle owners across the country do not have a meter for either water or electricity or both.
LTA CEO, Naisa Tuinaceva said only a small number of people do not have the bills.
However, he said other forms of identity will be considered.
