The Health Ministry is taking precautionary measures and is screening all passengers on cruise liners and other vessels which call into port for any symptoms of Influenza A H1N1.
Media Liaison Officer Iliesa Tora said officials are currently at the Kings Wharf carrying out their screening process on the passengers of the Dawn Princess which arrived this morning.
Meanwhile, the ABC reports that the cruise liner, the Pacific Dawn which had docked in Sydney on Monday morning after travelling through the Pacific region had 14 confirmed cases of swine flu and the 2500 passengers have been asked to stay home in isolation for a week. The vessel did not dock in Suva.
The number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Australia is rising rapidly with 70 confirmed cases as of this morning.
The Pacific Dawn was due to sail again but was diverted to Willis Island off the coast of Queensland after three crew members developed symptoms of the flu.
