A woman and four men from Nakasi are in police custody following a joint raid by officers from the Police Dog Unit and Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the discovery of white crystals believed to be methamphetamine.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu says the raid was a result of information gathered of alleged illegal activities taking place at the residence.

He says when the team arrived at the residence, they executed a search warrant where K9 Ike was deployed and gave an initial indication of illicit drugs.

ACP Driu says the team searched a box and found several zip lock bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, and a further search conducted inside the house led to the discovery of more plastic bags containing white crystals.

All suspects are in custody at the Nakasi Police Station, and the seized substances have been sent for analysis.
