In just his first year in International School Suva, Jacob Waqanivalu is hoping to make it a memorable one by winning the Intermediate Boys 100 metres in the Coca Cola Games.
Waqanivalu clocked the fastest time of 10.77 seconds in the inter boys 100 metres competitions of all zone meets this year.
However, Waqanivalu will face stiff competition from defending champion Aaron Powell of Gospel High School who ran a time of 10.79 seconds during the Suva Zone Two.
Waqanivalu said it will come down to who prepares well for the day.
He also welcomes the competition provided by Powell.
Meanwhile, the Coca Cola Games torch was in Bua College and then went to Lekutu Secondary and Dreketi Secondary.
The Coca Cola Games will kick off next Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
