All schools with race based names are now being changed.
Over the past few months, a number of schools have come forward with recommended names to ensure that they do not have race based names in 2011.
Education Minister, Filipe Bole said he expected all the schools to have the name changes within the first school term of this year.
Bole said they have also seen the trend of the race based school names just dropping the race from the names.
Meanwhile Fijivillage has received confirmation that the management of Indian College located at Rewa Street in Suva has also changed the name of the school.
Its new name is Jai Narayan College.
Jai Narayan served the school for 42 years and is now the Manager of the school.
Joint raids conducted by the Fiji Detector Dog Unit over the weekend led to the arrest of six men in separate drug raids in Lami, Nadi and Labasa.
