A nationwide appeal to raise funds for children living with cancer is underway.

Thousands of people this morning took part in the Walk On Walk Strong walk from the Vodafone Arena to Suva Grammar and back to the arena.

Walk On Walk Strong founder Sina Kami said the turnout has just been overwhelming and that people continue to pour into the arena to show their support.

According to Kami 41 people are expected to shave their head this hour which includes Legend FM breakfast host Ateca Tukana and FM96 announcers Amelia and Maree.

Brumbies winger and former Queen Victoria School student Henry Speight is currently taking part in the walk from the arena to Suva Grammar and has already shaved his head in Australia.

In the next hour the Communications Fiji Limited family will start their street appeal walk from Nausori to Suva.

Today the CFL family from Legend FM, FM96, Viti FM, Navtarang and Radio Sargam will also be based at locations in Suva, Nausori, Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Navua, Sigatoka and Labasa to help raise funds for children living with cancer.

Meanwhile, last night hundreds of music lovers turned out at the Vodafone Arena to watch Pacific Pop Princess, Vanessa Quai perform and raise funds for children living with cancer.

Vude Queen Laisa Vulakoro also performed with other local bands where the crowd danced away throughout the entire night.

Fijivillage caught up with some people who had this to say about the performance and the campaign.

More people are continuing to come forward to the home of Fijivillage here at 231 Waimanu Road to make donations for the Walk On Walk Strong Campaign.
