Yaladro flats, Nabuna and Vanuakula areas in Tavua are still under 3-4 feet flood waters and continuing rains are expected to make the situation worse.
Special Administrator Tavua Town Council Arun Prasad said flood waters have not reached Tavua town as yet however people are advised to be cautious at all at times.
Meanwhile officer in charge Tavua Police Joseph Lo confirmed their officers are doing rounds at Yaladro flats, Nabuna and Vanuakula areas and evacuating people.
Also Tagitagi, Nabuna, Vanuakula and Natawa bridges are under flood waters and not accessible.
Lo said Tavua District School, Tavua Primary school and Tavua Muslim School have been opened as evacuation centers and people who are being affected by the floods are requested to move in to the nearest evacuation centers.
