Families on Malolo Island in the Western Division are receiving emergency water supplies, as dry conditions continue to affect communities and their access to water for daily needs.
The National Disaster Risk Management Office says a third round of emergency water carting is underway to help residents facing water shortages.
The operation is being coordinated through the Office of the Divisional Commissioner Western, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport, and the Water Authority of Fiji.
The NDRMO says the operation aims to ensure affected families have access to water for essential household needs, including drinking, cooking and cleaning.
Residents are being urged to conserve water, avoid unnecessary use and prioritise their daily household needs while emergency supplies continue.
The NDRMO says it will continue working with relevant authorities to support communities affected by dry conditions and strengthen their ability to cope with future droughts and other climate-related challenges.
